RECIPROCATING GRATE STRUCTURE AND WORKING PRINCIPLE

STRUCTURAL COMPOSITION

The heat-resistant cast iron reciprocating grate bars mainly consists of fixed grate bars, movable grate bars, support frame, reciprocating transmission device, etc. The entire combustion surface is formed by alternately arranging fixed and moving grate bars in a stepped configuration, typically inclined at an angle of 15°–20°.

Fixed grate bars are mounted on fixed grate beams, which are securely fastened to inclined channel‑steel supports.

Moving grate bars are installed on moving grate beams, and all the movable grate beams are uniformly fixed in the movable frame, with load-bearing rollers installed at the bottom of the movable frame;

The lower ends of both sides of  all moving grate beams are connected by connecting rods to form an integral frame.

WORK PROCESS

The equipment can be driven by either a motor eccentric mechanical drive or a hydraulic drive: The hydraulic model relies on the output power from the hydraulic station, and the hydraulic push rods push and pull the overall movable frame to perform back-and-forth reciprocating motion; the mechanical type relies on the motor reducer to drive the eccentric wheel to push and pull the frame. Ttroke of the reciprocating grate  is usually 130 - 170 mm, and the fuel smoothly moves from top to bottom. The driving action interval can be adjusted through a time relay to match the combustion speed and burnout time of different fuels.

The inclined reciprocating grate bars adopts segmented independent air supply, and the combustion process shows obvious segmentation; The fuel falls from the coal hopper and slowly moves along the inclined grate bars surface from top to bottom, completing the entire process of drying, ignition, combustion, and burnout.

CORE ADVANTAGES AND PROPERTIES OF THE RECIPROCATING GRATE

CORE ADVANTAGE

1. The coal type is highly adaptable, capable of burning lignite, type I and type II bituminous coal. For coal types with high moisture content, high ash content, and low calorific value, as well as biomass fuels, the reciprocating grate combustion shows outstanding advantages.

2. Compared with the chain grate, the stirring effect of the reciprocating grate is better, and it is easier to ignite coal, with a high degree of fuel combustion completion and stable combustion conditions.

3. The combustion disturbance is sufficient, the fuel combustion intensity is high, the rated output of the boiler is stable, and the adaptability to short-term slight overload is good.

4. The structure is simple, the disassembly and maintenance are convenient, and the ignition conditions of the furnace are excellent.

5. It is equipped with mechanical coal feeding and mechanical slag discharge devices, significantly reducing the labor intensity of the boiler operator.

The reciprocating grate boiler has a wide coal type adaptation range, stable operation, simple maintenance, and strong comprehensive practicability. Therefore, it is highly recognized and selected by customers.
